**WE WILL NOT RUN PAST 11 PM NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE A TEST & TUNE. IT IS NOT WORTH GOING TO PUBLIC HEARINGS OVER AND MAYBE LOSING OUR FRIDAY NIGHT RACING. PLEASE STAY WITH YOU VEHICLES IN THE STAGING LANES AT ALL TIMES SO WE DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT ON YOU. WE HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND GET EVERYBODY A  RUN IN. WHEN WE GET SO MANY TEST & TUNE VEHICLES IT IS HARD TO COMPLETE THE RACING WITHOUT GOING PAST CURFEW. WE ARE AVERAGING 200 CARS ON FRIDAY NOW WHICH IS WONDERFUL BUT WE DON’T WANT TO DISCOURAGE YOU BUT NOT FINISHING , SO FAR WE HAVE FINISHED EVERY TIME.  IF WE HAVE AN OIL DOWN WE WORK AS FAST AS POSSIBLE TO GET IT CLEANED UP AND BACK RUNNING. SO HELP US BY BEING READY.

BRACKET RACING RULES BY CLASS

2011

Super Pro: 7.00 to 11.99

Delay Box Permitted: DELAY BOX/DEVICE Permitted in Advanced E.T. and Super Pro only. Prior to use, all delay boxes/devices manufactured after Jan. 1, 2003, must be NHRA-accepted. A current list of NHRA-accepted delay boxes is available on NHRA.com. One delay box/device is permitted; it may be attached to the transbrake, shift timer, and/or throttle timer only. The wire to the transbrake (or line-loc) may contain a splice that activates the two-step/launch-control device in the ignition system. No other wiring shall be connected directly or indirectly between any other part of the ignition system or any other devices (such as data recorders, tachometers, suspension components, fuel- injection system, etc.) and the delay box/device. All wiring associated with the delay device, throttle-stop timer, ignition system, automatic shifter, tachometer, data recorder, and fuel-injection system must be fully visible, labeled, and traceable.

Transbrake Permitted

Front and Rear Wheel Line-loc Permitted. Line-loc installed on front brakes must have he solenoid installed after the differential switch.

Dual Brake Systems Permitted: Secondary braking systems are permitted as long as the hand brake and foot brake are connected such that any movement of either engages both master cylinders and all calipers. Dual brake systems functioning independent of each other prohibited.

Automatic Shifter, Air or Electric, Permitted

Throttle Control Permitted Per NHRA Rule Book

Starting line and high side rev limiters permitted. Rev limiters installed so as to act as down track RPM controller Prohibited.

Nitrous Allowed. Nitrous system may not be wired in a manner where the delay box timers directly or indirectly control the ignition system or ignition timing.

Computers Prohibited

Data Recorders Permitted in Advanced E.T. and Super Pro only. Data recorders may function only as outlined in Section 20, page 35 item 9.3 of the NHRA Rule Book.

Wheel, Axle and driveshaft counters prohibited. OEM installed ABS sensors permitted provided they are used in an unaltered manner.

Devices used to measure and/or react to elapsed time or distance are prohibited. OEM factory installed speedometer Permitted.

Mercury switches and any similar device that reacts to vehicle movement Prohibited. Unaltered OEM safety restraint impact sensors Permitted.

Any vehicle running faster then 9.99 or 135 MPH must have a current chassis certification and the driver must have a current NHRA license. All participants must have a VALID state license or an NHRA license classed for the vehicle being driven.

DRIVER RESTRAINT SYSTEM Seat belt mandatory in all cars. Three-inch driver restraint system meeting SFI Spec 16.1 mandatory in any car running 11.49 (*7.35) or quicker, in convertibles running 13.49 (*8.25) or quicker, and all dune-buggy-type vehicles running 12.00 (*7.50) or slower. SFI 16.1 restraint system, when required, includes crotch strap and must be updated at two-year intervals from date of manufacture. See NHRAGeneral Regulations 10:5, 10:11.A head and neck restraint device/system is mandatory for any vehicle running 200 mph or faster. Neck collar meeting SFI Spec 3.3 mandatory for all other vehicles. At all times that the driver is in the race vehicle, from the ready line until the vehicle is on the return road, driver must properly utilize an SFI-approved head and neck restraint device/system, including connecting the helmet as required for full functionality of the device. The device/system must meet SFI Spec 38.1 and must display a valid SFI label. The head and neck restraint device/system, when connected, must conform to the manufacturer’s mounting instructions, and it must be configured, maintained, and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. See General Regulations 10:8.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, all drivers in the Adanced ET class will be required to wear a head and neck restraint device/system meeting SFISpec 38.1.

Drivers of all open bodied vehicles must have and properly wear helmets, neck collars, arm restraints and gloves. Drivers of all open body vehicles must properly secure and tighten driver restraint systems before exiting the water box. Failure to be properly secured will result in disqualification.

Neck collars must be worn when running 9.99 or faster.

All vehicles must be equipped with a functional reverse lock out and neutral safety switch.

All vehicles must have a drive shaft loop

HELMET For all closed-bodied cars, a full-face Snell M2000, M2005, M2010, K2005, SA2000, SA2005,  SA2010, SFI 31.2A, or 41.2A helmet mandatory; shield mandatory. (goggles prohibited).For all open-bodied front-engine or rear-engine supercharged,turbocharged, or nitrous cars, a full-face Snell SA2000, SA2005, SA2010, or SFI 31.2A helmet and shield mandatory (goggles prohibited). For all open-bodied naturally aspirated gasoline- or methanol burning cars, a full-face Snell M2000, M2005, M2010, K2005, SA2000, SA2005, SA2010, SFI 31.2A, or 41.2A helmet and shield mandatory (goggles prohibited). See NHRA General Regulations 10:7.

A minimum one pint capacity liquid overflow canister is mandatory on all vehicles.

All vehicles running 9.99, 135 MPH or faster or with the battery relocated from its factory location must be equipped with a master cut off located on the rear of the vehicle.

Vehicles running 150 MPH or faster must be equipped with a parachute on the rear. Parachute must be pulled for testing as directed by track officials.

All full bodied cars equipped with a roll cage must have a window net.

Roll Bar mandatory at 11.50 and Roll Cage mandatory at 9.99 or 135 MPH.

Non-mechanical switches prohibited, i.e. Infrared, Optic, etc.

Fire suit required as outlined in the NHRA rule book for class and ET operated

 

Pro (Class II) 9.00 – 17.99

No Electronics, Foot Brake Class

Non-programmable ignition system will be  permitted

Single stage non adjustable high side rev limited  permitted

Electronic tachometer with or without shift light permitted. RPM signal input only. Shift light output signal only

Non-driven wheel line loc permitted. Must be direct wired and easily traceable.

Nitrous oxide permitted. System must be completely controlled by the driver by either a hand or foot switch or connected to the throttle. Timers, RPM switches for activation or deactivation prohibited.

Equipment specifically prohibited, not all inclusive: Delay Boxes or Devices, Trans Brakes, Data Recorders, Computers other than stock unaltered OEM, Electric/Pneumatic/Hydraulic Throttle Control, Down Track RPM and Timing Controls

Motorcycles/Sleds/4 Wheelers

Must have number plate on the left/tower side

Drivers must have full leathers, high top boots, leather gloves. All vehicles must have a kill switch attached from the bike to the driver. Delay boxes prohibited on bikes

All engines must be self starting. Electric auxiliary starters Permitted. Push or Rolling Starts Prohibited

All bikes must have a solid working tail light. Flashing strobe lights prohibited

Valid NHRA competition license mandatory for riders running 9.99 (*6.39) or quicker. Valid state- or government-issued driver’s license beyond a learner’s-permit level mandatory for riders 10.00 (*6.40) or slower. See NHRA General Regulations 10:4.

The rules stated in this document are in addition to the rules posted in the 2011 NHRA Rule Book. It is the responsibility of each driver to ensure their vehicle and equipment are fully compliant with the rules of the NHRA and Capitol Raceway. Capitol Raceway Technical Inspectors will perform pre race technical inspections and will spot check vehicles in competition at any time during the race season. Refusal to allow a vehicle to be inspected at any time is grounds for immediate disqualification and could result in additional disciplinary proceedings.

Solicitation, distribution of any materials or petitioning on Capitol Raceway property is strictly prohibited without the expressed written permission of Kimberly Cunningham Fourcade. Anyone reportedly violating this track rule will be subject to actions to include permanent disbarment from the facility.
